After undergoing a complete makeover in April 2004, the 1920s-era Claremont Hotel reopened as Hotel Ändra, a boutique property that incorporates Northwestern-style decor and Scandinavian influences. Located on the edge of the Belltown neighborhood, the hotel is within walking distance of eclectic cafés, fine restaurants, and is four blocks from the historic and colorful Pike Place Market.
Rich brown woods, distressed plank floors, and hand-knotted rugs are among the design elements that surround guests at Hotel Andra. A granite fireplace in the lobby living room is topped by a floating plasma screen that projects images of fine art work, and is surrounded by floor-to-ceiling maple bookcases. Wireless Internet access is provided throughout the hotel, and high-speed Internet access is also available at lobby work stations (surcharge for both). The 119 oversized guestrooms and suites provide alpaca headboards, goose down comforters, and flat-screen or plasma TVs.
